Chronic, unresolved stress from the past impacts things like digestion, immune system, our behaviour and cognitive functioning and, importantly, how we feel. The degree to which we internalise stress in the present (in the form of worry) will depend on how we perceive a stressful situation. Both our past and our present ways of coping with stress are learned behaviours informed by core beliefs. Which means we can unlearn them. And adopt new ones.
By exploring how the past is informing the present. By clearing out the unwanted stories we created about ourselves that we believed to be true, we begin to notice how light and how positive we feel.
