What I Do
What I do
The way i work is simple, effective and creates lasting change
Does your sense of self-worth fluctuate depending on what happens in your life?
Is your decision-making often clouded by other people’s opinions and expectations of you?
Do you find yourself falling into the same negative thought patterns when you are stressed or overwhelmed?
The reasons people come and see me may differ - but essentially, we all want to feel happy and confident within ourselves. We all want to be able to go after our goals and dreams and enjoy life without being tripped up by ourselves.
So why do we get stuck?
Each of us has a unique system of beliefs (a mindset), that is the lens through which we respond to our lives. And over 90% of the beliefs that drive our decision-making and behaviour are sub-conscious. The problem emerges when those beliefs run counter to our goals and dreams, or when they reinforce negative patterns of behaviour.
For example, you might not even be aware of the limiting beliefs that impact the way you react to stress and trauma, or, whether you feel you deserve that promotion.
How can I help?
The good news is we can work together to shift the beliefs that are standing in the way of living the life you want and feeling good about who you are.
It is important to help a person create a picture of what they want. By laying down new foundations, you are able to welcome supportive beliefs.
Life will always present challenges, but we can learn to pause and to notice when we might be close to a slip into learned behaviours.

A story about a most extraordinary client
Over the course of many years, I have had the privilege of working with some incredible people.
I will never forget a woman who came to see me whilst I was volunteering at a street fair many years ago. She was in her early 50’s and had been essentially homeless for most of her life. She was unwell physically and emotionally broken after a lifetime of hardship and suffering. She desperately wanted to change her life. I knew I could help her, so I invited her to work with me at my clinic.
Working incredibly hard, she never missed appointments, even when it was really tough to do so.
As change grew stronger and she became more resilient, we started to put in place the supportive resources for her new life. A place to live, a course and the clothes and makeup for job interviews.
When she arrived for our final session I was so moved. She had been outfitted by an organisation with clothes, hair and makeup. I stood her in front of a mirror hanging on the back of my clinic room door. There she stood looking at herself - so she could take in just how far she had come.
I still have the beautiful card she gave me that day. A picture of a small bird with its skinny legs spread wide apart, each one clinging to separate branches of a tree. She said the bird reminded her of us humans all trying to balance the act of life. And what a challenge that is! She said that what I do is a true gift. But, I could not have assisted without her commitment and her dedication to helping me in our work together.
